Vision & Mission Statement
Our focus for our Children’s Department is to have Christ-centered Bible study resources that looks at the big picture of God’s story—the story of redemption through Jesus Christ. Each week, kids follow a chronological timeline of Bible events, all the while learning how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ. We want the children to have a deeper understanding of why Jesus came to save us and why they need Jesus!
For the next quarter we are focusing on Power and Parables which focuses on Jesus’ displays of power, His parables about the kingdom of God. The study explores Jesus’ power over creation, sickness, evil, death, and His power to provide for our needs as the Messiah. We are showing the children how Jesus taught His followers what God and His kingdom are like. For the Easter season we will of course be teaching how Jesus died on the cross and rose again to make a way for us to be with Him in heaven.
We are also placing a strong focus on Scripture Memory. Psalm 119:11 says, “Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” We are teaching key passages like Psalm 23, Psalm 1, Psalm 8 and basic scriptures with hand motions and expounding on it’s meaning. After each set of scriptures is memorized they receive a prize and a badge!
